User Registration stopped
outie - 3-14-2005 at 12:12 AM

Yep if you haven't noticed user registration has stopped since yesterday.

So, let's see if anything has been improved. What do you think, Mods?

AznHombre - 3-14-2005 at 01:32 AM

I don't get it. What's expected to be improved?

StanAlone - 3-14-2005 at 01:54 AM

hmmm. i think that's pretty wise to cut off the noobs from commin in. lately, i've been reading a whole shitload of crap money-posts. kinda irks me to see the same message over and over. hopefully, it'll cut down on the worthless comments.

Jaiesun - 3-14-2005 at 02:26 AM

well i think i'm an old enough member to be saying that it mite be a good idea. At first when i got to this site things were very interesting, the posted topics i mean, they were new and interesting inventions, funny video clips, and people respected the site and each other. But i'd have to say taht after a while when this site became more popular, there were more unwanted people. I remember for a while there was this problem of racism, money problem, and now porn problem, which never happened before. I think taht it's a good idea to not let some people in here and disturb our peace. I'd have to say taht this site is still great due to the elder members, and very few new members have contributed to this site. Maybe this is a good way to see if the site is still as interesting as before or not.

Don't ask, if you don't know what's been going on lately.

mbamatt2004 - 3-14-2005 at 06:04 AM

I guess I joined the site just in time. I'm saddened to hear that you have closed it. I must say out was a little bit worried about all the porn. After all, if there's too much how many girls would want to stick around. There are lots of all porn cites out there. I'm new so I still don't understand the old outie, but I will say this: this is then the only form I have ever joined. People here just seemed much friendlier in general, it was a nice break. I read it for awhile before joining last week.

I must say it was tempting to try to go get lots of money right away. I have the entire Hilton video, 82 MB of it, not the shorts thing. But somewhere I read that, outie didn't want her name popping up on search engines. And after seeing one guy this week who joined doing nothing but sell porn and having way more money that I'll ever have; it was kind of frustrating. But I also think this is a cool forim and the money will, overtime anyway.

Hopefully, you can open it up again in the future. I'm glad to be here.

Well...my question is...why do people come here in the first place...BEFORE it was all bout the interesting posts....and the...funny things on the net...and...now...they all come for the smae reason..porn...and a lot of times....in general..ppl wanna post crappy post or...crappy topics jsut to get money to buy porn....well of course with some excepetions..MAYBEEE wt we can do is ...tkae down the porn section for like...a day or two..and see how they respond to that...if they think is totally outrageous...then...they're not here for the OTHER interesting stuff dats going on..rather ...the porn ... i mean like...once in a while someone posts porn dats ok...but if it becomes liek a ..everyday thing and the only reason ppl are here...then i'll say we rather not have porn...at least we can keep this place clean and not filthy..maybe we should let ourself known we are NOT made to disctribute porn ...dat was not our initial idea to begin wiht...but im guesing it was to attract ppl..but anyway the decision is up to u admins..so yah

GeneralX - 3-14-2005 at 09:32 AM

as Jaiesun said, our peace has been disturbed by some of those newbs out there who, without any idea why they clicked "I Agree" when they registered, simply contribute in junk posts.
those particular people just make the burden of the mods heavier and heavier; so i guess stopping new registration is kinda like a must at this stage of the game
and i think the forum should not be re-opened until members who have joined during the last 6 months become mature, meaning they know what they have to do and what they cannot do in the forum.

_aV - 3-14-2005 at 10:00 AM

guess this is the best option we have until everything clears up and this forum picks itself back up and like general x said...it might be a better idea to keep the register closed until some of our other members mature in this forum first...but that would take a while...and then wouldn't this forum turn private then...

Also the fact that i dun't think porn is the cause of all this, just the people itself in this forum is the cause of our problem....people may click "i agree" without actually looking at what they're agree'ing to but alot of them end up giving a bigger load of work for the mods...so although i can't come up with a suggestion for this, i think the one general x made is the right one.

Advanced - 3-14-2005 at 10:12 AM

for those of you that dunno wats going on . .

outie stopped sign up to outie for the time becos of the newer members, they just want to post junk and useless threads about nothing . .

and the increase of porn is disturbing for many of the members here on outie . .

so for the time being, the sign up is off . . hopefully this will let the current members mature and understand the outie forum better . .

c4_munke3 - 3-14-2005 at 10:47 AM

i duno if i have a say here but i think the best way is to get rid of the porn. or have like a limit everyday or somthing because like kusunagi said people are just using this site for porn. we dont mind it but its just the fact we have to keep readin rubbish replys and pointless post. it makes it boring for the real true outie members.

Rukawa - 3-14-2005 at 01:49 PM

Stopping registration does not prevent guests from viewing most of the forum. They're only restricted to the 18+ content and the market. They can browse freely as people usually do.

If there are special requests then maybe, IMO, we can consider the accounts. Such as your best friend wanting an account but you'll be held accountable for their actions. They get in trouble, you might as well. I think that sounds reasonable but don't go flooding outie with IMs just yet -- I just came up with it. :D
