Yoshinoya... you gotta be kidding me... that's like the largest "japanese" fast food chain in California. It's like telling someone to go to HK to
eat McDonalds (except HK Mcdonalds is like the best thing ever)

Food:
You will definitely want to visit "Tsui Wah" its the most famous Traditional Cafe in Hong Kong, with a long history for their Milk Tea and Pineapple
Buns definitely give that place a try.
www.tsuiwahrestaurant.com/
Things to look out for here are the: -
Crispy Bun with Condense Milk
Fishball Noodle Soup
Hotdog
Swiss Style Chicken Wing
North Point Cafe near North Point MTR:-
- Best "Ngau Lei Sou" Sweet Donut
- "Lai Dung" (lit. Milk Cold) Milk pudding
Then You Have the more local stuff like the Dai Pai Dong and Street Vendors,
For Dai Pai Dong:-
- Choi Hung Station exit E1 I Think, good eats there
- Che Kung Temple just ask any cab drivers good hotpot here
- Temple Street (Not recommended its a tourist trap but you can try)
Street Vendors (Satay Fishballs, Stinky Tofu, ShaoMai and intestines):-
- Famous one in CWB can't miss it, also serves the best HKstyle Milk tea
- Prat Avenue (Where all the local bars are)
I Have more but they would be too hard to find unless you know the area well, but these should get you started, generally if your not a local in HK,
you would find yourself eating at fast food joints as you never know where you end up, but who knows what you might find right?
Have fun

You could go to the cheapest michelin star restaurant in Mong Kok - Tim Ho Wan
http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g294217-d1745792-Reviews-Tim_Ho_Wan-Hong_Kong.html
try some Din Tai Fung if you get a chance for some dumplings...
I'm a sucker for chain foods even if the locals think they are over abundant:
Cafe de corrale for some cheap breakfast/lunch/tea foods
Hui Lau San for some desserts/bubble tea

depends on how much you want to spend.
The best sushi experience I had was at Sushi Hiro (Tsim Sha Tsui).
http://www.openrice.com/english/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=15255
Book in advance. Tell them you want to go for "omakase" (chef's choice. his reputation is being tested, so he will use his best judgement and
skill to serve you the best meal available on the day), so you want to sit at the bar. The chef will make everything right in front of you and serve
you piece by piece. Price ranges around HKD 800 - 1000 per person without alcohol. Perhaps when you book on the phone, you can let chef know the
maximum you want to spend.
Went there for my gf's bday. Great atmosphere. NOT crowded. The chef basically only serves you during the entire meal (maybe occasionally
multi-task another order). there was a model that i saw on adverts sitting at the bar as well.
Oh and this is the kind of place where you're given a damp neatly folded cloth to wipe your fingers... cause eating the sushi (not sashimi) with your
hands is the custom and shows respect to the chef.
PS - Open Rice is THE standard food directory in HK. www.openrice.com

I highly recommend you try out an all you can eat japanese restaurant called "和民". It's very good, service is amazing, food comes fast and $550
HK will get you really filled up.
And when I meant $550 HK, I didn't mean per person, it's around $550 HK for 3-4 people.
